Today at Trinity, the shoeboxes prepared by the Friendship Group and the Thursday Group, co-ordinated by Lindsey, were blessed in a moving moment during the morning service by Revd Nigel Ogley.
In total, 40 boxes were put together, each one wrapped and filled with small gifts such as toys, toiletries, warm clothing, and treats.
The boxes will go to House of Opportunity, who will distribute them to disadvantaged or vulnerable children and families across South-East Europe. They are delivered to places such as orphanages, Roma communities, refugee centres, women’s refuges, rural schools, and to elderly or disabled people who are isolated.
