A Joyful Christingle

It was heartwarming to see the church overflowing with people, united in remembering the true meaning of Christmas.

The service was a reminder that Jesus welcomes everyone, regardless of their background, language, or social standing. We celebrated the diversity of humanity, from shepherds and wise men (and women!) to the youngest of children and the most seasoned of church members who are also welcomed by Jesus afresh even though they have done it many times before.

The presence of our friends from All Saints added a special dimension to the occasion. Families connected to the church through baptisms, marriages, and school groups joined us, creating a community atmosphere. And who knows, perhaps some were drawn to the service after seeing the leaflets that were delivered throughout the neighbourhood (round Ock Street, the Albert Park Area and Spring Road).

Thanks to Selina who led us in making the Christingles and lighting them safely (coats under seats), as we sang Away in a Manger, and thanks to the pianist who Tricia invited.
