Trinity Church has decided to make improvements to the entrance and the facilities in the Conduit Centre.<\/a> Over 700 people a week use the Centre. It hosts more than 20 community groups on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facilities will enable easier access for the disabled and infirm and for the children who use the Centre. The project will include environmentally friendly changes which will save on heating and lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Covid-19 project update in April 2020 – The builders have had to stop work as they could no longer get supplies of materials. However, when they finished, the building was wind and water tight with the new windows installed and the roof finished. They have also progressed well with the interior. They estimate that when work resumes there will be four to five weeks of work left to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First Phase (Summer 2019)<\/strong>
\u2022 Replacement toilets in the facilities off the Main Hall often used by children taking part in activities or by other groups
\u2022 Integrated seat facilities for children
\u2022 Provision of hot water in these toilets
\u2022 Redecoration<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Second Phase (January 2020)<\/strong>
\u2022 A new front door to provide easy access for wheelchairs
\u2022 New toilet facilities and a greater number of toilets
\u2022 A separate disabled toilet opposite the front door for easy access
\u2022 A baby-changing facility
\u2022 LED lighting
\u2022 More storage
\u2022 Enclosure of the open tread staircase making the stairs safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
